The
Duncan Public Schools Foundation was established in 1989. It
is a broadly based, non-profit organization formed to develop
supportive community and private-sector relationships with the
Duncan Public School system. Contributions are tax deductible.
Mission
Statement: The primary goal of the Duncan Public
Schools Foundation is to be a private patron of the public
education system in Duncan. The Foundation will secure
resources from individuals, corporations and foundations to be
distributed to the Duncan schools to support programs for which
funds are not available from federal, state and local public
sources. These programs will stimulate academic excellence and
mobilize community support for enhancing the quality of education in
the Duncan public school system.
What
programs will be funded by the D.P.S.F.?
The
Duncan Public Schools Foundation funds two programs:
The
Grants to Teachers program provides teachers with
grants for the development and implementation of innovative teaching
projects. Teachers submit ideas for the projects to the
allocation committee who prioritize grants based on imaginative
projects with inspire students, generate enthusiasm and promote
academic excellence.
College
Scholarships for Duncan High School graduates are
provided from individual donors and from funds raised though the
Foundation.
