Substitute Services

Interested in becoming a substitute teacher?
Duncan Public Schools is currently seeking persons interested in filling substitute teacher positions.  These are not permanent positions.  Applicants would be filling in for current employees when needed.  As a condition of employment, each prospective substitute must pass a National Background Search at his or her expense.  Substitutes must re-apply each school year and have a new Background Search performed.
  • Applicants must be a citizen of the United States and must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Please bring proof of a high school diploma or equivalent when applying.
  • Duncan Public Schools participates in the E-Verify System.  E-Verify is an Internet-based system operated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service in partnership with the Social Security Administration.  E-Verify electronically compares information contained in Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security databases to help employers verify identity and employment eligibility of newly hired employees.
  • Applicants need to review the list of acceptable documents and bring the appropriate documents when applying.
  • Current rate of pay for Certified Substitutes and Non-Certified Substitutes is $7.25 per hour.  To be considered a Certified Substitute, you must hold a valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate.  Please bring a copy when applying.
